We were proud to be a part of Greening Taupō Day 2024, a fantastic initiative that Stormwater360 are proud to support. This annual event brings together the local community for a day of environmental education and native tree planting.
Greening Taupō and Kids Greening Taupō have a shared mission to create a greener future for the region. All the funds raised go towards supporting their ongoing work. Together with the community, they have already planted over 250,000 native trees in Taupō, with plans for many more planting days in 2024.
Greening Taupō and Kids Greening Taupō' also provide free environmental education, native plants, events, and teacher professional development to kindergartens, schools, and early childhood education (ECE) centres in Taupō and Tūrangi. Already 40 schools and ECE centres are currently benefiting from restoration plantings supported by Kids Greening Taupō.
For this great event, we showcased one of our gross pollutant traps the LittaTrap™. We created a game with the LittaTrap to showcase how it works to capture trash and plastic waste before it reaches our waterways. The kids loved this game and reinforces our message of protecting our waterways to stop pollution of the waterways and protect Lake Taupō.
